BCB Clinic specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with Borrelia burgdorferi and other co-infections.

Over the past two decades, we have accumulated unique experience in treating patients who suffered from a wide range of symptoms and did not find relief even after undergoing examinations by various specialists. By default, a patient infected with Borreliosis comes into first contact with a general practitioner, who has the opportunity to perform basic Elisa and Westernblot tests. If it is a chronic patient, due to long-term reduced immunity, the results are often falsely negative. Patients are then usually referred to specialists (rheumatologist, neurologist) for further diagnosis. If the examinations are negative, they often end up with a psychiatrist. But psychiatric drugs do not solve the cause of the difficulties.

Treatment of Lyme disease in Slovakia is carried out according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Health with antibiotic treatment lasting 3-5 weeks, or if it is Neuroborreliosis, it is recommended to take Ceftriaxone for 3-6 weeks. Some doctors then come to the conclusion that the infection is cured, regardless of the patient’s clinic and subsequent test results. If the disease was not caught in time and the treatment was insufficient, patients end up with Post Borrelia syndrome, which brings other health problems and complications.
